The ongoing conflict in Cameroon has severely affected the Northwest and Southwest regions, displacing thousands and triggering a large-scale humanitarian crisis. Yet, reliable and up-to-date data on the needs and vulnerabilities of affected populations remains scarce.
To address this gap, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) engaged SCETA to design and implement a comprehensive Multi-Sector Needs Assessment (MSNA). The primary objective was to generate high-quality data to inform DRC’s strategic planning for 2025, ensuring that interventions are evidence-driven and responsive to the realities on the ground.
The assessment process was deeply participatory, involving local partners who were actively implementing programs in the assessed regions. These partners were engaged throughout—from co-designing the assessment framework and tools to supporting survey implementation. SCETA also provided training to partner staff to strengthen local capacity and ensure rigorous data collection.
To ensure the findings were accurate and actionable, SCETA facilitated validation sessions with technical advisors. These sessions helped contextualize the data and confirm its relevance to the operating environment.
By combining technical rigor with local collaboration, the MSNA delivered nuanced insights into the multi-dimensional needs of crisis-affected populations. The result is a robust evidence base that supports more strategic, coordinated, and impactful humanitarian response planning in Cameroon.
